I am excited to be one of a team of international and Ukrainian facilitators working with ICA Ukraine, and partners the Association of Regional Governernors of Ukraine and NGO “Faith.Hope.Love”, to deliver the upcoming PEACE (Public Engagement and Civic Empowerment) Summit in Kiev on 4-5 July. I have been invited to share a video message to introduce myself, and to comment on my role in the summit and my hopes for the event.
Please make a donation to support the Summit! Give now online via the Charities Aid Foundation – enter UK registered charity number 1090745 to donate to ICA:UK, and enter ‘ICA Ukraine PEACE Summit’ as your ‘special instructions’ to the charity. Or donate online via the appeals of international facilitators Lorraine Margherita (France/Euro) or Sasha Fursman (US/Dollar). Thank you!
250 participants from across the 27 regions of Ukraine are invited to dialogue on ways to solving issues locally, restoring goodwill among all peoples of Ukraine, and to provide outlines for establishing greater regional and city control while strengthening the country of Ukraine. Participants will represent regional territories (East, West, North, South, and Central Ukraine) with a variety of perspectives on moving Ukraine forward.
The event will be designed to allow sharing of best practices and views of governance, develop a governance model that will support regional and national identity, and draft strategies to implement the potential model in Ukrainian regions. Future summits will be organized regionally to continue the work and ensure larger community participation.
The Summit will be professionally produced and managed by ICA Ukraine in collaboration with professional facilitators from Ukraine, Russia, Europe, and USA. Summit partners will assist with hosting, logistics, and equal participation of sectors of the society.
For more information, see the PEACE Summit website and (in English) press coverage at Good News from Ukraine. See also video messages from fellow international facilitators, Irina Fursman, Richard Fursman and Larry Philbrook.
